BDJ Rendezvous: #BDJMadeToFly

I've attended the BDJ Rendezvous: #MadeToFly event last April 18, which was held at Eastwood Mall Atrium. This was the second event that I attended from BDJ Power Planner (the first was the 2014 BDJ Passion Series: A Time to Give Back). According to the invites, we should be at the venue before 1 PM to register and to be included in the raffle. I arrived around 12:45 PM because I had a hard time looking for the the venue (it was my first time going there).

The event started with a game, wherein we have to look for a ZAP sticker under our seat. 3 Lucky Bellas won a LINE stuffed toy from ZAP. (Inggit ako! ^^v)

They invited 5 guest speakers to motivate us to travel and to see the world outside the comforts of our home and to give us tips and tricks about traveling.

The first one to talk was Ms. Cara Del Rosario - Dizon of Subic Grand Seas Resort. She discussed how to balance work and personal life. And how we should make time to explore and experience new things by traveling despite being busy with our career.

On the other hand, Ms. Tricia Gosingtian gave us some traveling beauty tips. She, together with Ms. Amanda from Pond's Institute showed us how to achieve the No Make Up Look using Pond's products (Pearl Cleansing Gel, Dewy Rose Gel and the BB Cream).

The third speaker, Ms. Nina Fuentes of justwandering.org talked about how to plan before traveling. She shared us her travel experience and the places she visited and how much did she spent. I want to travel too after seeing those places she visited and hearing all those experiences she made.

Here are some tips she gave us during her talk.
1. To fund your wanderlust, you can either sell your old things, sell your skills, start the 52 weeks project (which I am currently doing) or try to earn while traveling (this one works best for freelancer or those who work online).
2. Be alert of seat sales or visit skyscanner.com.ph for promo fares and cheap flights.
3. Travel slow. Take time to explore one place thoroughly instead of moving from one place to another in a short period of time.
4. If you just need a place to sleep, it is better to stay at hostels rather than in hotel to save money. Check airbnb.com for accommodations.

And when you travel, you need to take a lot of photos (selfies, twofies, groufies ^^v) as remembrance of your trip. Mr. Eman de Leon, shared us some makeup tricks to be photo ready all the time using Revlon Make Up.

The last speaker is none other than Ms. Donna Cuna - Pita of Cosmopolitan Ph. She shared to us some tips on how to travel light, what clothes, shoes and make-up to bring when traveling.

Here are some tips from Ms. Donna.
1. Check the weather forecast ahead of time. By doing so, you'll know what type of clothes, and shoes you'll bring.
2. Have a color scheme for your travel wardrobes.
3. Bring items that are travel friendly such as wrinkle resistant clothes and items that you can mix and match.
4. Bring comfortable footwear. Bring at least 3 footwear depending on the nature of your trip. And make sure to wear the heaviest one to lessen the baggage weight.
5. Bring the appropriate make-up depending on the climate. Make sure 2 bring at least 2 shades of lipstick (for day and night). It's better if the you'll bring makeup items that's multi-purpose to save space and to avoid added weight.

I learned a lot from all the speakers and I can't wait to join the next event. I'll make sure to apply everything I learned when it's my time to travel. Anyway, aside from the talks, there are games, raffle and contest held during the event.

Here's what I got :)
