Post-event: BDJ Rendezvous - Watch Me Shine!

I've attended another BDJ Rendezvous this year. BDJ Rendezvous - Watch Me Shine was held at Glorietta 3 last June 27. I was at the venue around 11:00 AM. Since the registration will only start at 12:30 I decided to grab a bite at the nearest McDonald's outlet. The event started with a game and a raffle and was hosted by Sarah Carlos. If you don't know her, she will be the new Bea Bianca in Pangako Sa'yo (ABS-CBN Teleserye).

After the game and the raffle, we then proceed to the first topic "Follow your Style Persona" by Ms. Kristine Garduque of the "The Heteroheroine".

She talked about how to feel pretty and sexy while wearing comfortable laid-back clothes. She also talked about the common style mistakes.        

Common Style Mistakes
> too much bling, too much skin
> poor fitting clothes
> bad proportion
> inappropriate clothing
> compromising comfort
> blindly following trends

The second topic was "Win the Financial Game" by Mr. Aya Laraya of "Pesos and Sense". This was the topic that I'm interested the most and the main reason why I decided to join the event. Now, I'm trying to visit his website once in a while to read and learn more about investing. ;)

What I've learned from Mr. Laraya's  
> Investing is a choice between something good and something potentially better.
> You should know the purpose why are you investing. Is it for your retirement, for big purchases in the future or for your tax obligations.
> Learn to invest and how to do it (investing) smartly.
> The 3 key factors before you invest - Time, Money and Knowledge
> Where to invest - Stock Market, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Real Estate.

The next speaker was Ms. CJ Jimenez, a Professional MakeUp Artist and an International Image Consultant. Her topic was "MakeUp Rules to Live By". She first talked how MakeUp changed her life.

What I've learned from Ms. CJ
> The reason why do we need to wear makeup.
   * to gain confidence, for self and artistic expression, to create the image you want to project.
> How to set right makeup for your daily look.
   * know the purpose (if its for job interview, teaching pre-schooler, going to party or date)
   * the place (if it's air conditioned, in a hotel or in a mall, office or if you're going to commute or not)
   * time (day time, night time, sunny, windy or raining).
   * what will you be wearing (glamorous, simple, casual, corporate, colorful, etc).
> Basic make up rule for a chic like you.
   * take care of your skin (cleanse, tone, moisturize, block and exfoliate), eat healthy, sleep well, stop smoking)
   * always go with simple fresh look if your not sure
   * do not overdo your make up (one focal point on your face is enough).
   * remove your makeup every night.
   * use high quality products, right tools, and good application techniques.
> DO NOT CHANGE YOUR LOOK, JUST ENHANCE IT.

After the third talk, we had a short break. We ate and visited the booths of Ponds, Ace Water Spa and Canon Philippines. Maila, Tasha and I posed at the Canon photo booth and asked the photographer to print 3 copies for the three of us. :)

The last speaker was Ms. Karen Agustin-Ostrea, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe-2002 and an Image Consultant (Global Image Mangement). Her topic was "Keep it Real on Social Media". She told us this, "Your Online Image is People Perception of You". She then explained that image is no longer about your face, body and look but rather our image is attached on our presence online. She also talked about the Social Media Etiquette to follow.

> Keep it Real, but not to real. - do not post / express too much negative / negativity

> Be mindful of your post / comments online.

> Avoid posting opinions about people and controversial issues.

> Post photos that show you on a neutral or positive light.

> Don't flood people's timeline with hourly updates of your self - selfies, status updates, etc.

 All in all I enjoyed the event. I learned a lot and can't wait for the next BDJ Rendezvous.

Free Call Center Training at eSynergy International

I was walking down the street near Lotus Mall last June 2 when I saw a streamer advertising a FREE Call Center Training. So after I went home I began searching about eSynergy International (the one offering the training) and immediately print out my resume. I then went to their office to pass my requirements and had my interview the same day. I was told to wait for their text message to know when will our classes starts. Two days after I received a text informing our class schedule.

We started the training last June 5 and ended it last June 23. We had class from Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon. I had fun attending the class and was able to meet new friends. I gained confidence in my communication skills and was able to face my fear.

Post Event: BDJ Beauty Boot Camp

Last Sunday, June 7, I've attended the firts ever BDJ Beauty Boot Camp. My initial plan was just to visit the fair, since I don't have extra budget for the classes they are offering. Fortunately, 2 weeks before the event, I won a 3-class pass for the workshop during the raffle draw at the last BDJ Passion Series so, I was able to attend 3 classes for free. Awesome, right?!

Anyway, the 1st BDJ Beauty Boot Camp was held at the Blue Leaf Filipinas in Parañaque. The first location among the BDJ events I've attended that I'm a little familiar with since I always saw it whenever I go to SM MOA.

My first workshop was scheduled at 11:45 am and I was at the venue around 10. While waiting, I decided to visit the fair and every booth that was in there. I chose to check the booths early on while it's still not crowded and I'm not yet tired. Every booth has their own "gimmick". 

Here are my favorite booths :). 

My first stop was at the Status Salon Booth. I registered and pick a prize. I won a FREE Blowdry. 

I got the chance to be a cover girl for a while. I'm the World's Biggest Star (in my dreams) hahaha.. :) 

Etc and 2nd avenue booth where  I won Igloo lunch bag (from etc.) and Spice Jars (2nd avenue) by following their IG account and by posting my own photos I took from their booths. Yeey!

Right: The Flawless booth where your Golfing skills will be tested. Too bad golf is not my forte. Anyway, I was given a 500 discount voucher for trying.

I also tried the Pond's Skin Analyzer. Too bad my skin's age is a bit older than my actual age.:'(

THE WORKSHOPS: 

 

TRENDY NAIL ART w/ REVLON
This is my most favorite workshop among the 3 classes I've attended. It's because I love experimenting different styles / nail art. I even had dotting tools and different brushes at home.

Miss Paula Pangan was the speaker for my first workshop. She taught us what to do to prepare the nails before doing the nail art, the basic nail art designs and the tools needed when doing your nails. She also showed us some design she made in the past.

 

The designs I made on my nails. I just played with the red, green and silver color nail polish since the colors available was limited.

Each attendee were given a loot bag with 2 nail polish inside.

PERFECT BASE FLAWLESS FACE w/ L'OREAL PARIS
This workshop was not my first choice. I was confirmed at the "Be Wedding Ready w/ Max Factor" but was informed 2 days before the workshop that there's no slot available so I have to change it. Oh well. :)

The speaker for this workshop was Ms. Gex Garcia, Senior Makeup Artist of L'oreal Paris. This workshop is about applying make up properly. She taught us the different techniques when applying powder, foundation and primer and other stuff. She also make a demo on applying minimal makeup to achieve the "NO MAKEUP LOOK" which is a trend nowadays.

I'm a little bit sad because there's no freebie from L'oreal for all the attendees. They just gave I think 3 items to those who answered their questions correctly. :'(







THE DOLL EYE LOOK w/ L'OREAL PARIS

My last workshop was from L'oreal Paris again. The workshop is about makeup tricks and tips for Asian eyes.

Ms. Verna Marin was the speaker for this workshop. She's L'oreal Paris Chief MakeUp Artist. Just like the previous workshop, she talked about how to properly prepare the skin before applying makeup first. She also made a demo on how to achieve the doll eye look. From how to properly apply eye shadow, what eyeliner to be used and how and where to apply it to achieve the look down to applying mascara properly.

After all the workshop, I decided to head home because it's getting late already.
